Drifting on Summer Heat

I would like to point out, for the record, that I was promised a thunderstorm. As of right now, no storm, no thunder.I did drop a bottle of ice out of the freezer, but that’s just not the same.

So, today, it is hot, and more humid than the state of Nebraska has any right to be.

And I am not writing.

I got some good, solid notes in over my lunch hour, between de-scamming a coworker and talking about the weather. (Yes, today I chose the social option. No, I don’t know why. Yes, I had my headphones with me. No. I didn’t have the sense to put them on.)

I’m working on tracking down all the factions in the novel, and making sure their stories actually go somewhere. The Prostitute and that barroom demagogue? Yeah, they might turn out to be the same person.  I just can’t decide what their name is.

Somewhere in the depths of my hard drive is a plot grid. And I probably need to pull it up. It works, when I’m actually using it. I may have a few chapters to add to it, at this point.

Been up since early, and I might not be making a lot of progress… but look: a blog post. We’ll see if I have anything more useful tomorrow.
