F is for Forcing Yourself

2016FI didn’t get much sleep last night. I don’t know why. Too many ideas in my head. Not enough food in my stomach. Maybe the cat decided to take up moonlight yodeling. I don’t know. But morning came, and there I am, staring at a clock that insists I get up, and go to work, and basically function. And more than that, there’s a computer waiting for me to work on my own work, and a whole A-to-Z Challenge that could be completely ruined by not having an F-word.

And by the way, sitting there thinking F-word, F-word, What’s a good F-word is probably not the best way of coming up with a decent, uplifting F-word.

So, let’s be honest. Today, I am forcing myself to sit down and write a post.

Because stuff happens. You don’t get enough sleep. You go to work, and find out that “the girls” have decided they need to find you a man. You keep going. You keep working toward the goals you set for yourself.

I’m going to finish this blog post, and then, I’m going to work on my WIP a little bit. I don’t expect a whole lot of quality on two hours of sleep, but I do expect to put in the effort, and maybe let my mind wander a little bit.

Glad to know that I’m not alone. Not that I was thinking about dropping the ‘f’ bomb, mind you. Just that… a little more sleep would be nice. Two more hours in the day would be … probably pointless, because how would we spend it? Don’t answer. Sleep well. No pressure, but we are waiting for your G… but not until tomorrow.

Dang I hate days that start like that because the whole day is a struggle. It is probably my mindset because I wake up on the wrong side of the bed, but I feel ya!

Hope your day went great despite the Force, Rofl @ self Okay my mind went immediately to Star Wars. Yes I hope you used the Force to inspire your day.

These are the days when you wish your bed was already made. Oh wait … that’s Manic Monday. So, you’ve done well, you managed to force yourself to forge ahead (hey another F word) and you managed to force yourself to work, publish your blog post, and hopefully get some work on your WIP done , all without dropping the F-bomb. I think you’ve had a successful day – overall. Go ahead and treat yourself and why not go out and let yourself meet the guy your friends want to set you up with? It just may work out? Maybe it’s fate in the making? Oh, another F word.
Well, I will but out of your personal life. Just dropped by to say hello during the challenge. Hope you are having a good time.

I really am having a great time with this. Hope you are, too.
I probably would go out with someone, if I thought they had one specific person in mind, but right now, they’re just throwing things around to see what sticks. “You know M’s cousin J’s buddy Fred? I think he’s single… and not gay. Well, probably not gay. Uh… mostly single, anyway…”

Sometimes forcing ourselves to do things we don’t feel like flings us into fortunate situations. 🙂

I find that reading books is so much better when I’m sleepy. Turns my critical mind right off and superfires the imagination.

There are just some days when I’m so proud of just getting out of bed that any writing at all seems like a sparkler on the cake.

You’re doing great for only a few hours of sleep. I think I’d just be sacked out somewhere, half awake (if that).
And you’re right. Sometimes, writing is all about forcing ourselves to sit and do it.

Well, thanks! I’m doing this challenge, but I can’t promise that some of my posts won’t just be whatever keys my head hits when I finally fall asleep.
