I’m working my way up the rather steep learning curve that goes with my new watch. (The one to replace the old watch, which I knocked a button off of. It was a very important button.)
I’ve learned how to tell the time.
That’s not much of an exaggeration. I’ve been holding off wearing it to work so I can get a screen protector. (It promises me military grade buttons. It did not say which branch.) So, right now, I’m bouncing back and forth between the (buttonless) Fitbit and the new (to me) and improved (it has buttons) Garmin Instinct.
Well, I said I was done with Fitbit as soon as this one died. I seem to beat the shit out of them a little faster than I can afford. And, yes… t’was an accidental death. (But it wouldn’t have happened in an office.) So, the primary consideration was… what looks as though I can’t possibly destroy it?
Impact resistant, Thermo-resistant. Water- resistant. Costs about the same as a Fitbit. Does all of the same things. And it has GPS, which is becoming more of a plus. There’s a laundry list of features, somewhere out on the internet.
And running those features with five buttons? Well, that takes a little bit of doing. I had to read the manual. And even after I read the manual, I wasn’t entirely sure what it meant. So, obviously, I turned to Youtube, where there are actual videos of people doing the Things.
I still have plenty of time to learn it. But, I am going to need time.
