The 52 Week, Short Story Challenge

I’m being peer pressured, people!

Well, not any more, obviously. I already said yes.

So, the online writers’ group I’ve been a part of for the past mumble mumble years, has set forth a challenge:

1.) Write 52 short stories in the course of a year. (Specifically, 2021)

and

2.) Submit those short stories to paying markets.

To be honest, it’s the submit the stories part that gets me. Most of the short stories I write seem to get eaten by this blog, or crammed in the bottom of a bag somewhere.

The idea of pulling them out, polishing the up, and sending them off?

Well, it’s high time I did something like that.

It’s so hard to hit send on those first stories! I had to really psych myself up for it. It does get easier and the first time you get an acceptance, well, that’s just an awesome feeling!

It’s definitely tough to send them out! I’m going to have to get it in gear, though. Wish me luck!
